Tax Credits and Incentives

SCE&G offers great rebates and incentives to help you save more energy. Get started with our ENERGY STAR® lighting discounts. We also make it easy and affordable to switch to energy efficient natural gas appliances with bill credits and other incentives. Additional rebates are available for heating / cooling and complete home performance (efficiency) upgrades.
And, don’t forget to take advantage of other rebates and incentives on lighting and appliances available from major manufacturers and retailers for even more savings!
Federal Tax Credits
Energy Efficiency Federal Tax Credits are available for energy efficiency improvements in 2011.
Residents who install geothermal heat pumps, fuel cells, solar wind turbines, microturbine systems, and/or solar energy systems can receive up to a 30% tax credit. Residents who install either of the following: 15 SEER air conditioners, sealed crawl space systems, radiant barriers in attics or add additional insulation can qualify for the 10% federal tax credit up to $ 500.00 if not previously used.
Renewable Energy Federal Tax Credits are available for solar electric systems and solar thermal systems, 30% of the cost of the system can be taken in a tax credit.
